Description

Quarterly drill (Confluence OPS › Restore drills). Region this time: UK.

  1. Restore last night's dump to a new instance in eu-west-2.
  2. A copy of identity-service against it, in an isolated network with no mail or SMS.
  3. Check row counts per table against the manifest, the newest updated_at, ten random people with their roles and depots, and a password sign-in with a test account.
  4. Time from "start restore" to "sign-in works".
  5. Delete the instance; results here and in the drill log.

Passed: 38 minutes to a working sign-in. Counts match. Rewrote the checklist as I went; two steps were in people's heads (the isolated network's name, the drill role).
