Northgate: audit log export opens as one column in Excel
Description
Hi,
our external auditor opened the approvals audit log export on their laptop and everything is in column A, commas and all. On my PC it opens fine. The auditor's laptop is set up in German. Can you help?

ENG-1630: offer a semicolon CSV next to the comma one.

Thanks, I'll pass that on.

Hi Rachel, from today the audit log export offers "CSV (Excel, semicolons)" next to "CSV". On the auditor's laptop, choose that one and Excel opens it in columns.

Brilliant, thank you.
Hi Rachel, thanks, I can see why. Excel picks the separator from the computer's region settings: with UK settings it splits on commas, with German settings it expects semicolons, so the whole row lands in column A.
Until we change the export, the auditor can open Excel first and use Data › From Text/CSV, choosing comma as the separator. I've asked engineering to offer a semicolon version of the export.
