Vossberg: about 300 people twice in the portal after Okta sign-in
Description
Hello,
since the Okta switch we have about 300 people twice in the portal. When the email in ACME was different from the Okta username (m.mueller@ against michael.mueller@), the person could not sign in, and our depot offices made them a new account so they could work. Now the old account has the roles and the open requests, and the new one is what they sign in with. Some drivers can't open gates with the new one.
What do we do?

OK. We will fix the emails on the old accounts. Can you send the pairs you see?
List attached: 296 likely pairs, the same name at the same home depot, one of them not signed in since June.
Duplicates after the first Okta sign-in, where the imported email differs from the Okta username. Nothing stops depot offices making a new account when someone is refused. For Noor (merge).
Done by hand for 240 pairs. The rest next week.
For the rest: from today People › Possible duplicates lists the pairs, and Merge moves roles, depot assignments, waiting requests and history to the record you keep.
Hi Bettina, that's exactly what happened. Sign-in through Okta finds a person by email and never makes an account itself, so where the emails differed, people were refused, and the accounts made by hand are the second records.
For now, per pair: correct the email on the old account to the Okta username and deactivate the new one. That keeps roles, requests and history on one record, and the person's next sign-in lands on it. There's no merge in the portal yet; I've asked our product team for one, with your case as the example.
