Description

I unlocked Dave Pritchard at Corby after the account locked, and with the next typo it locked again for 15 minutes. Is that right?

Hi Kerry, no, that's a bug. Unlocking clears the lock but not the failed attempts counted in the last 15 minutes, so the next wrong password counts as the eleventh. I've sent it to engineering. Until it's fixed, ask people you unlock to type carefully, or reset their password if they've forgotten it.

ENG-1729: unlock should reset the failed-attempt count too.

Yusuf Demir · 16 Sep 2026, 09:20 UTC

Fixed this morning: unlocking now clears the count too, so the person starts with ten tries.

Thanks Yusuf.
